Sodium Sulphate

Sodium sulfate is the inorganic compound with formula Na₂SO₄ as well as several related hydrates. All forms are white solids that are highly soluble in water.

It is usually mined from excavations from lakes with bitter and/or salty water as a chemical by product. In its natural state there is no zinc, arsenic, lead or chromium or other toxic materials and heavy minerals.

  • It has a very important role in production of paper from cellulose.
  • It is also intensly used in the production of glass and detergents.
  • In textile dying it is used for the dye to penetrate the cloth thoroughly.
  • In chemical industry it is used in the production of potassium sulfate, sodium silicate aluminium sulphate, sodium sulphate.
